This year I will speak in two Drupal events

Speaking at two live events is huge for me. And the best part about speaking at an event is the ability to have an amazing co-speaker.

This year, I will be speaking with my wonderful colleague, Mikaela, about the hidden skills of development. We have been giving internal training at Exove about the topic as well; it's something that we both care deeply about. We decided to apply to both DrupalCamp and DrupalCon with the broad topic, but the focus is different. In DrupalCamp, we focused a bit more on the individual level and in DrupalCon, we will focus on team health.

DrupalCamp Finland

This was my second time speaking at DrupalCamp Finland. Last year, it was accessibility, and now it was hidden developer skills. Well, I did send a suggestion for an accessibility topic as well, but each speaker can have one topic, so no accessibility topics this year.

The talk apparently went quite well; at least we've received positive feedback. There were a few hiccups, which is probably very normal. But we also learned a few things that we want to focus on for our next talks.

DrupalCon Europe

This year, DrupalCon Europe is in Rotterdam. The event takes place in September.

What makes this extra fun is that we can attend the whole event, not just the day of our talk. There are so many topics to choose from! I hope to see some familiar faces there as well, and maybe even meet some new people. I hope it will be a fun event.

This is an exciting opportunity because this will be my first DrupalCon event. And I've never been to Rotterdam or the Netherlands. So a lot of first times! And this will be my first flight in over 10 years and the first time without my husband.

What happens after these?

Well, I have some session suggestions for other events. So hopefully I get to speak at other events as well. And I hope to get some accessibility topics as well. We also already have plans with Mikaela to continue speaking together about our favourite topics.

There are also a lot of things happening with A11ying with Sanna. I'm going to start creating content for YouTube. I'll start with Finnish, and once I'm more comfortable in my processes, I'll add English as well. And I'm also writing a book! So if you like my accessibility content, stay tuned!
